  1. spyderpilotuser Said,

ive watched a good 10 videos of yours. they are great. I just got back into golf this year. im a freshman this year and i made varsity (only cuz everyone else sucks tho). i shoot an avergage of like 50… yea i suck. i have set of warrior irons, and i just broke my driver so im getting a new callaway one. i checked out ur video to see how to pick a shaft and stuff. thanks.

  2. hackfest4 Said,

Thanks Shawn, demo days are coming soon to a dealer near me and I plan on trying out some blades.
    Dan

  3. clemshaw Said,

If you like their feel and are consistent with distance then stick to them; you can play blades anytime; we were all on blades 30 years ago; Ping clubs were just coming out…all you saw in bags were MacGregor, Hogan, Wilson, Powerbilt, Arnold Palmer etc…they were all the same specs; lie, loft, dynamic gold shafts, victory grips. Did not bother us one bit! :) Shawn

  4. hackfest4 Said,

Shawn, 2 years ago I purchased a full set of Nicklaus clubs. Driver, 3 wood, 3&4 hybrid, 5-P cavity backs, 52, 56, 60 W. I love them all and thanks to you I swing them all well. My question is… when do I know when I’m good enough to try to swing blades? Thanks and by the way these two vids have been more informative than any salesman or club rep I’ve ever met.
    Dan

  5. clemshaw Said,

Right on dude! Great clubs they make!

  6. WhiteNacho Said,

I have just bought a new set of Adams irons, and yes they have shaved about 3 stokes form my score.

  7. sabresfan97 Said,

yea. first, off 12 aint great. not bad, but nuthin to brag about. u could def shave at least a few strokes off with sum clubs tht arent shit

  8. MattInQ8 Said,

…. and you might just knock 10 off that if your clubs were fitted right, your story is exactly the same as mine, except I went and got my (already “perfect”) clubs fitted and found they weren’t set up correctly for me. They did the job, but COULD have been doing it better.

  9. WhiteNacho Said,

My irons were “fit” at the thrift store I bought them at. A set of old Wilson Pro Staffs with a steel shaft. My Ping pitching wedge was picked up at a garage sale for $3. My Odessey putter was given to me along with my Cleveland driver. I also picked up a Vulcan hybrid 4 iron at a used sporting goods store for $20.
    My handicap is 12.

  10. clemshaw Said,

    Thanks for the question!
It is very common; this space is way too short to answer but what I can say is that the graphite vs Steel is so different in feel, flex, torque and droop…It is all about the feel; if it feels good and performs well, make best friends with it and don’t change…:)Shawn

  11. XXGB34 Said,

When i first started playing golf i was able to get a graphite shaft set. The when i bought my own set i got a steel shaft. I notice the steel shafted were slightly shorter. Is that common? How much difference can it be because it is shorter?

  12. roblox84 Said,

    oh amazing set

  13. clemshaw Said,

    Very sweet set dude!

  14. clemshaw Said,

Hey snsstarnes; sorry I did not see your comment until now…Have a look at my new “Golf Pro Lesson Clay Pigeon Shooting” video for the target bound release and my “Golf Pro Lesson Perpetual motion drill” video for getting out of the way of this release…Shawn

  15. miniminime17 Said,

Hi Shawn I just got some sweet Cleveland Tour Action irons with the ta7 gold shaft. for like 1/4 the price at a clearance sale. They felt like they hit them self…I think i got the right clubs for me :)

  16. snsstarnes Said,

Hey shawn. Have you ever heard someone who feels as if they loose their club during the take away? I mean feeling. I am cruising along and bammmmmm! all of a sudden I start sticking it in the dirt. Any drills for the person who knows the basics? O and my grip feels so funky during all of this.

  17. clemshaw Said,

Just stiff flex; and you should try a few there as well because every manufacturer has different specs on their shafts; a UST shaft feels very different than a Fujikura or YS shaft in the same flex…
    Shawn

  18. clemshaw Said,

I must have missed your comment! Sorry about that!
    I would do both and compare notes and see how they match up; the key here is to try before you buy and do not let someone just tell you what you should be hitting;
    Shawn

  19. jeetang Said,

Hey Shawn. One question. What is the flex for your driver?

  20. nebolater14 Said,

Ok Shawn looking to get fit for irons and I was just wondering do you just go up to the pro or fitter and tell him/her that i what to be fit for w/e club or should i go to a place that specializes in fittings

  21. 812ekoms Said,

Hey Shawn, played a round yesterday for the first time this year with my newly fitted Titleist Z*M’s. For the first time, I finally broke 100–it sure feels good, since I’ve been at the for almost two years now. My foursome couldn’t understand how Golf Galaxy sold me a set of blades. They all have that same fear and brainwash about using blades too. Anyway, I said to them, “you should always bring a blade to a knife.”

  22. clemshaw Said,

    I am waiting for our new Titleist Fitting Cart; they do look sweet and I can’t wait to try them;
    Shawn

  23. clemshaw Said,
