  1. Bradley H Said,

Absolutely. This is not too uncommon actually. What you refer to is sometimes (as it was at my former country club) called a ’social membership’. Because it excludes the golf (just one or two rounds per season instead of unlimited golf) It is less expensive than a full membership. Everything else is included; namely restaurant/bar access, pool, tennis courts, locker room, etc. And you can always pay for golf if you want to play, it just wont be included in your membership.

  2. WP Robot autoposter plugin Said,

Just get a social membership, they are cheaper than golf memberships but entitle you to use the bar and other facilities at the club.
I can’t understand why you wouldn’t just go down your local pub though. I’m a member of my course to play golf, i wouldn’t dream of spending a single evening in the company of the stuffy old windbags at my club. I go into the clubhouse for lunch after a round and for trophy presentations and it ends there.

lol…no – i think you have to pay…my dad does & he really only goes along for the 19th hole…his golf is pretty rubbish!!

  4. Free Wordpress Article Plugin Said,

If you can afford to pay the memebership fee, just to sink a few pints rather than sinking a few putts, then do so. You never know, you might find yourself tempted to have a go at the game. They normally have a dress code though, so you’ll need to invest in some hideously coloured slacks and a pringle sweater!

  5. Jason G Said,

Why would you join a golf club for benefits of the 19th hole? You can do that anywhere unless you like the view of the golf course. Hell, you can go to the golf course and do it and not be a member unless it is a private club.

  6. Trash Metal Album Reviews Said,

Sure. All of the private courses in my area have social memberships. You’re entitled to use of the pool facilities, game rooms, lounge and dining areas. They price of the social membership may also vary depending on where you live in proximity to the club. The farther away you live, the cheaper the membership due to the likelihood that you will use the facilities. Fifty miles is the measure my club uses to determine the price break. These members are mainly business men that like to have a place to entertain clients and business associates.

  7. The Intelligent Agnostic Said,

most clubs will have a social membership where you have use of pool tennis courts restaurant etc. You can also go to thier events.
