Does Anyone Know How To Retrieve A Golf Club That’s In The Bottom/middle Of A Lake?
Posted by admin
I know this sounds impossible, but it happened and the people working at the resort are saying there’s just no way they could get it, the water’s too dirty. Thing is, the club is a Honma edition that they no longer make and well, a club set isn’t a set without all of its clubs. It’s a golfer thing.

Take scuba lessons!
Actually, if the lake has a sandy bottom, it may be near impossible to find even if a diver were to go down. But ask the head pro about their ball retreival schedule and maybe you can come by to see if they find your stick when they clean out the lake.
I had a driver slip out of my grip on a rainy day once. Did you know titanium drivers float??? Wind blew it to shore shortly afterward and we carried on with our round.
Try checking out some local dive shops and asking if they could help you out. They have recreational divers asking about dives all the time. If you hook up with the right people, they might be talked into looking for your club in exchange for a tank of air.
GET A SNORKEL, FLIPPERS AND MASK AND GO GET IT YOURSELF. MIGHT TAKE A FEW TRIES, BUT ONCE YOU’RE IN YOU’RE IN. IF THERE ARE SNAKES AND OTHER CRITTERS IN THE WATER THAT’S A DIFFERENT STORY. GOOD LUCK.
dive under but if it deep dont get it just get some that somebody so tall to get it
someone had a bad hole
The magnet will work.
Several suggested a pro diver. Check with the course. Many courses allow a diver to come in and get golf balls from the lake. If you could figure out when/who does the diving they might get it for you for a small fee or even free.
ask your caddie to get it for you
Ask the course who it hires to fish out all of the balls in the lake, and then find out if you can hire him/her to dive in and get your club. The sooner you get it out of there the better.
apart from pumping out all the water, you could hire a pro to dive in and retrieve the club.
cant think of any more ideas
you are on the right track with scuba, its a question of what is it worth to you? I would try craigslist , the la times classified and the coastgurd they might know a retired golf lover
Ok bring a inflatable raft and bring paddles and go there wait did it sink? Find someone that is willing to go down there maybe one of your friends?
a boat and some scuba gear might help you out
First, it’s alway a wonder to me how on earth that your club ended up there in the first play. Must be a really bad shot that you lost your temper!!
Given no croc, I sometime see ball boys who go searching for the golf balls snokering around the ponds inside the golf course (of course with permission from the golf course itself), then you may hire those boys to search for your club. Otherwise, you may have to do that yourself.
Dive team. There are people who dive into lakes on golf courses and retrieve balls. I think they would retrieve a club if they saw one.
I want to here the part about how it ended up in the lake.
get a proper sized rare earth magnet and tie a wire on it, then jump in a boat. and dont drink the water, anywhere near a golf course – its toxic.
I agree with everyone!
1st – pro diver to retrieve
2nd – I also want to hear the story of how the poor little club ended up in the big nasty lake.
Drag a magnet over the area.
Let the course manager know about it, he will be able to get someone to search for it during the maintenance day.
I also would like to know how the club ended up in the water. If you had a bad hole and lost your composure, in my opinion, you don’t deserve to have the club back. A golfers clubs are an extension of him/her self. Also, what kind of example are you setting for young players that we hope will grow up to be able to control their emotions when times get tough? I’m not trying to be mean or hurt your feelings. Just think before you REact the nex time. Your game could imporve if you control your emotions.
Good Luck with your next round!
First off dont listen to the resort they more then likley dive in that water monthly to retrieve balls and other junk. Get a pro diver to get into that
First off, most golf courses don’t really have deep lakes(at least over here where in panama city FL they don’t), second this might work. If you get or have a fishing pole put a treble hook on the end of the line and put about a 1-2ounce weight on it as well and just reel it in and see if it snags on the golf club. surely the treble hook would snag on the grip of the club. also depending on how far out the club is in the water you also might be able to get it out with a cast net.
