I might go with a Fat Shaft from WIlson, but I just wanted to know if there was a comparable, possibly better club with the same stiffness. I have a taylormade stiff shaft now and it’s not as stiff as I like.

Wilson is the only company who makes Fat Shafts, although I imagine there may be some knockoff companies that make them as well, although the quality is probably lacking.
    Anyway…
What I really wanted to tell you here is that the ‘fat’ of the Fat Shaft doesn’t actually have anything to do with the stiffness of the shaft, it actually speaks more to the torque profile of the shaft, or it’s resistance to twisting. If a shaft is resistant to twisting, then the result is that on off center hits the clubface tends to stabilize, resulting in straighter shots. The ‘Fat Shaft’ approach is one way to achieve a low torque profile in a shaft, but there are other ways as well and all major shaft and club companies have shaft options that will be optimal for your swing.
If you don’t feel like you getting an optimal performance from your TaylorMade driver, then you can easily get fit into a custom shaft by any TaylorMade fitting center or any Pro who knows how to fit clubs well… although I would definitely lean towards the TM fitting center. The shaft is the absolute most important component of your driver. If you don’t have the proper shaft, you will be loosing strokes every round.
If you don’t know where there’s a TaylorMade fitting center near you, or you’re wondering what something like this might cost you, call 800.888.2582 (TaylorMade Customer Service) and they will be able to answer any and all questions you might have.
hope this helps, good luck, and happy golfing!

You can get most clubs in a Tour Stiff……Or you can do like I did and reshaft it. I bought a tour stiff R7. Hit it a couple of times and reshafted with the Proforce V2….I love it now.

You might want to try the Taylor Made Bubble Shaft Burners. You get the best of both worlds, good shaft and solid heads.

Yes – I’m afraid so. I did a search at igolfalot.com and that was the only manufacturer with a fat shaft.
