I just bought a new set of irons. There’s a wedge marked “D” that has more loft than the Pitching wedge but doesn’t have the bounce of a sand wedge.

I think it could be the wight of the club. A lot of clubs are D swing weight.
if you play golf like I do it stands for “Divot”
keep swinging anyway
Probably stands for “dual”. It can be used as a pitching wedge or a sand wedge. It hits shorter than a pitching wedge, and longer than a sand wedge.
I have never seen that on an iron/wedge.
I would contact the manufacturer (or visit their web site). They could tell you immediately.
dual usually. more commonly referred to as a gap wedge. used in place of those pesky mid range shots and deep rough near the green.
