   i’d go for a previously owned batch if you’re looking for the best…that way you save, and your recipient can always have a good set when improvement does begin. i bought a set of maxfli tour edition – not made, any more since acquired by taylor made – for $100 because they weren’t trendy enough for an assistant pro, and they are unreal.
   can’t go wrong with a good used set, BUT…not always good to buy clubs without making sure they fit/feel good to whoever you buy them for.

   I don’t think you should go to golf stores. I would go to a sports store. Like, Big 5 or ***** Sporting Goods.

    I know I’m not a male. But my brother is an avid golfer, and really he says Wal*Mart Brand clubs are just as good, and they are a heck of a lot cheaper.

    Go to the Golf stores first and try some of the equipment to get the feeling.To start I recommend the Adams Golf Set. It is user friendly and high quality. I bought my equipment in EBay brand new at an affordable price.

    buy decent clubs. Cheap ones will iritate you to death then you’ll try a freinds club and hit a great shot. i use tommy amour 845 irons, they are quite inexpensive i think. I got a taylor made driver and i shot an 81 yesterday, and i three putted i dont know how many times!!!!!!!!!

    For the best clubs, get fitted by a professional. It is amazing how much different a fitted will play versus a set off the shelf.
