When Your Golf Club Has A Dent On The Top And Side Of The Club (driver) Does It Affect The Flight Of Your Ball
Posted by admin
When ever I seem to swing now the ball seems to go straight into the ground or more often get up off the grown, then dive straight on down curving slightly on the way down.

Usually a small dent won’t have an adverse affect, but if the event that caused the dent also caused a hidden crack in the head, that might have a profound effect. If there is a crack, the sound at impact would probably be different. Try bouncing a ball by hand on the sweet spot of the clubface and listen. If the sound is clear and solid, chances are good that the clubhead is okay.
There is a very small affect on ball flight, but it is probably more in your head than anything. A ding in a driver / wood will slightly affect its aerodynamics, but it would not make the ball plummett straight into the ground (like topping the ball).
Damage to the clubface would affect ball flight. Otherwise, dents to the top or side of the clubhead have minimal impact.
