   There was a band leader by the name of Lawrence Welk whose cadence count was perfect for the tempo of the golf swing. Just visualize ” anda one, anda two ” the first for the back swing anda two for the downswing and follow through. You might also get some film footage for the swing of Sam Snead in his prime. His was a bit faster but in absolute tempo on every shot. You might also emulate Freddie Couples’ swing which has always been near perfect tempo. Hope this helps. Golf doesn’t depend on how hard you swing but where the impact point is on the face of the golf club. Just stay in control and you will see a significant improvement.

   What has helped me is to take a smooth two second breath in on the backswing and a forceful exhale on the downswing. Think about it like counting to 4. 1 and 2 are the backswing, 3 is the downswing and 4 is the follow through to finish. It’s worth a shot to give it a try on the range and can be applied to any shot.

   the key is to take your time act like the ball is not even there slow back swing and medium forward swing remember your not aiming for the ball just take it nice and slow and it will do what you want it to do

   i was given a great tip 1 year ago,it was say in your head “severiano” in your back swing and then “ballesteros”on your forward swing it worked for me and my handicap came down by 3 shots in a year

   At the top of your backswing…think the word “stop” to yourself. Dont actually try and stop your swing…just thinking the word is enough to get your brain to slow swing down.

   yeah. that severiano tip would probably work. also, make sure you have a brief pause at the top of your backswing. this will also help
