“Grip it and rip it.” Don’t be afraid to miss the ball. Spend some time at a driving range and just have fun. Don’t think that you can hit it everytime and laugh it off when you have trouble. Golf can be frustating if you let it or it can be a whole lot of fun. Great game – give it a try.
first off have fun with if ur not having fun with it take a break or just call it a day and play another day
sports r supposed to be fun. ive known alot of people that play just to win or just because they want to be the best. most of the time when me and my friends go out and play we dont even keep score cause in the end it doesnt really matter who won we r just there to play and have fun.
so have fun
and remember drive for show putt for gold
good putting is a major part (putting is the part where u r on the green-that patch of really green grass with the flag and hole)
dont worry about power or how far u can hit the ball just try to hit it straight
as far as how to learn just get someone who knows how to play and learn from them u dont have to have some golf pro or somethin to teach u just learn the basics and go out and play and discover the rest urself
but most of all have fun
go and see an instructor. That way you don’t start learning bad habits as they are harder to fix later.
Also – Golf gets harder as you get better
Remember you have to Hit it before you can watch it Fly

Your boyfriend can teach you the swing motion, that just takes practice.
Big problem I had (and still have sometimes) is that I put too much emphasis on my swing and my mechanics. Once you get a good idea what to do, try not to think about it so much. Overthink your swing and you’ll screw up.
Don’t use your muscles to “hit” the ball. Let the club do all the work. Just guide the club there.
“Just a little tap-tap-taparoo”
grip it and rip it
Watch Tin Cup… you are similar to the female character in the movie.
4 when you hear it duck and get out of the way.
The best tip you can give a golf beginner is… END. Stop. Don’t do it. Get out while you still have what’s left of your mind. Golf is a waste of time, a waste of money, and a waste of patience. It does no one any good.
“The reason the game is called ‘golf’ is because all the other four-letter words have been taken.” — Leslie Nielsen
Get a good teaching pro & have a lot of practice. This will help you to kick start better & faster.
It is always better to learn the corrent technique rather then correct a faulty technique later.
To correct a faulty technique, you need at least an additional of 2-3 time extra effort as compare to learning a correct technique.
Good Luck.
If have never played a single round in your life, try reading some books and doing some research on the fundamentals of golf and more importantly the etiquette in how to play the sport.
Once you feel you got a hold of the basics, get your self some clubs, be it from your local sporting goods store or from eBay. Then, get some practice sessions from a trainer. Maybe a golf pro at a local country club.
