You can do several things.
First – work on your short game. Spend 20 minutes 3 times a week putting and the same for chipping. You want your chips close enough to the hole you can one putt. Putting no 3 putts.
Second – Make notes on your score card – How many times did you lose one stroke because for your drive or 3 putt. That will help you find out what areas to work on.
third – Mental game – Look at the hole and chose high percentage shots you can hit. Let’s say you want to shot 90. Look at a par 4 and figure out what 3 shots you can hit to get on the green. Don’t waste shots with clubs you can’t hit. A lot of people hate 30 yard shots, don’t put yourself in that position. Hit a different club so you are 70 yards out.

practice your short game!!! putting, chiping. if you have carpet, or a rug, do it in the house. my putting has improved soo much by just putting waiting for supper to get done every night.
Practice more short game like putting and chipping
Relax and have fun!
I have found that the worst games I have played are the ones that I try to force shots and get all tense about making them.
A golf pro can also be of great help to assure you have good technique.
The absolute sure fire way to lower your handicap is to practice — BUT practice what. I would focus on practicing from 100 yards in —
practice wedges; know how hard you need to swing the wedge to hit it: 100 yards; 90 – 80 – 70 and so on. Know how to pitch the ball and chip the ball so you can get up and down — and most importantly practice putting… For good golfers that shoot in the seventies think of how many shots out of 75 come from within 100 yards — I would guess 75%
If you can get accurate from 100 yards in, and can get up and down from around the greens, and can putt, your handicap will definitely go down.. You have heard the old adage: You drive for show, and you putt for dough.
Have lessons from your local club golf pro, then spend as much time as you can on the practice fairway.
100 YARDS AN IN THAT IS WHAT YOU NEED TO WORK ON 95% OF ALL SHOTS TAKEN ARE IN THIS DISTANCE AN MOST MISTAKES ARE MADE.AN FOR THAT DISTANCE CLUB SELECTION IS TOUGH 8IRON TO YOUR PUTTER. BUT THOSE VERY SAME CLUBS ARE THE EASYES TO HIT WITH DO TO LOFT. AN MORE THING IS A GOOD GOLF GRIP MOST PLAYERS DON’T KNOW THE RIGHT GOLF GRIP TO US ON CLUBS. HITS THE SAME GRIP YOU US ON EVER SINGLE CLUB IN YOUR BAG. FIND A OLD 7 IRON OF YOURS AN GET A GRIP TRAINER GRIP PUT ON IT, AN PRACTICE WITH THAT. NOW WATCH YOUR FRIENDS CRY AS YOU HIT THREE STRIGHT BIRDIES
lots of practice and concentrate on problems in your game till rectified. play a round and have a look at the thee basic parts long game (driving) short game (getting up to the green) and putting. good luck see you at augusta in a few years
Go to an professional Golf teacher. I promise they will lower your score faster then you can. Believe I know. I have only been paying for 2 years and I shoot in th 70’s all the time.
get a golf coach who can really help your golf game improve.. then whatever he/she says that you need to work on practice it everyday. Mostly you need to practice on putting. The famous quote in golf is “We drive for show, but we putt for dough.” Short game will really help lower your score. Even though you have the worst drive, but if you can chipp in the hole or 1 putt that saves a lot of strokes. A great example is “Tiger Woods!”
cheat…foot wedge….try kicking your back heel straight up with your toe into the ground at the end of your swing that will lower your clubface about an inch that will help you stay under the ball…. less worm burners
