Just relax. What year are you? Just play your own game. If someone in the group decides to risk going over the water, you don’t have to. Play smart. Try not to get double or triple bogeys. Play course management. If the pin is on the right side of the green and is covered by a bunker, go left of the bunker. Just play it safe. Play for a par, not a birdie. Get your chips close. Practice a lot of 5-10 foot putts. Those are the putts that count. Good luck and have fun.
Ok, first off don’t worry what the other guys hit, they may be a little longer than you, just hit the club your comfortable w/ and if they ask u what u hit than just say what u hit. Drink lots, you definitely don’t want to loose strength coming into the final holes. Just have fun, don’t think that your competing against other players, but the course. Good luck.
Always make sure your well prepared and stay calm. Maybe take a good bottle of water or a sports drink e.g. ‘Powerade’. After every hole, take a drink and if you do mess up on a hole, always think in your mind, “It could of been worse, It could of been worse” This always works and it never has let me down. Its a nice tip, you should try it next time…
Think about anything but golf. I assume you’ll know the guys in your group, so just enjoy playing a round of golf with them. Don’t worry about trying to beat them. With golf, you’re on your own…not trying to go head-to-head with an opponent. Just have a good time and your game will be there for you.
Keep your head still
Think only about the shot at hand
Trust your swing, don’t redo it in the middle
The short game is what will separate you from the others. When chipping keep your left wrist firm. When putting keep your head as still as posible. Don’t tense up your shoulders to keep your head still. Rotate your stroke around your spine.
just relax, seriously. when i didnt relax at my tryouts i screwed up big time lol =[
Get some music that pumps you up and gets you in a good mood. Bad mood = bad player.
just try to make contact dont try to kill it. i’ve tried to kill it before and i only got it 100 yards. dont get frustrated with your hits they could be good even though they could be in the other fairway.
